reduced linear growth
usefulness of chapmans points
1 - diagnosis
2 - lymph flow
3 - visceral function through nervous system
chapmans reflex
change found in deep fascia as gangliform contractions located at specific points and consistently associated with same viscera
vary in size - occasionally multiple
chapmans tx
surface locus has been contacted by pad of finger
- firm gentle contact is maintained and rotary motion to finger through arm and hand to express fluid content into surrounding tissue
- finger held firmly in contact with locus
light touch important
determining factor for dosage of tx for chapmans
procured decreased edema, dissolution of contraction and subsidence of tenderness
20s to 2m or more
overtreatment should be avoided
endocrine group
prostate, broad ligament, uterus, gonads, thyroid, adrenals
GI group
colon, thyroid, pancreas, duodenum, liver, and left/right small intestine
infectious group
liver, spleen, adrenals
treat what you find
not what you are looking for
anterior thyroid chapmans
ICS between 2 and 3 rib close to sternum
posterior thyroid chapmans
TP of T2 midway between spinous process and tip of TP
thyroiditis
fullness of head, face and neck
nervousness
tachycardia
