A

Kerensky had just crushed protestors
But Bolsheviks still had mass support
Sep 1917: general kornilov marched troops into Moscow
Kerensky armed the Bolsheviks for protection which stopped the troops

Why were the Bolsheviks able to seize power in November 1917?

A
Lenin returned from hiding 
Bolsheviks took over City on 7th November (having been armed by Kerensky)
They took control of:
Bridges
Main telegraph office
Railway stations
Power stations 

So Kerensky left the city

A

WAR COMMUNISM= harsh economic measures the Bolsheviks adopted

RED TERROR:
Res army soldier’s families held hostage
Brutal to peasants
Took food from peasants for army
Food was rationed which Led to huge famine

A
