What is Mood?
The atmosphere or feeling of a literary work. The setting can contribute to establishing the mood of a story
What is Setting?
The time and place in which a story takes place
What is Characters?
The individuals whose thoughts and actions make up the story. The actions of the chair trod make up the events in the story
What is Protagonist?
The central, focal figure in a work or fiction
What is Antagonist?
A character or force that works against the protagonist, creating obstacles. A story can have more than one
What is a Round characters?
Characters that are fully developed with both positive qualities and flaws.
What is Dynamic characters?
Characters that undergo any change over the course of the story as a result of experience.
What is Static characters?
Characters that do not undergo any change from the story’s inception to its conclusion.
What is Flat characters?
Characters that are stereotype and one - dimensional
What is Characterization?
Methods used by an author to develop a character
What is Plot?
The arrangement, or sequence,of events within a story
What is Conflict?
An obstacle, struggle or controversy that the protagonist must resolve or overcome
What is Character vs character?
A conflict in witch the protagonist has a problem with another character
What is Character vs nature?
A conflict in which the protagonist must struggle against a harsh environment or natural disaster
What is Character vs society?
A conflict in which the protagonist faces a problem with a part or the whole of society
