What does humanity mean
Caring about other human beings through prayer and action,compassion for others
What does soul mean
The part of human nature that allows us to connect to God,this is the part that will live on after death,the spiritual part of us.
What does creation mean?
Gods making of the world for a purpose,something made out of nothing
What does literalist mean?
They believe the creation story in the bible actually happened, (6 days of 24 hours) they see conflict between scientists and religion.
What does talent mean?
Something that someone is good at,certain skills and abilities that people have. Christians believe they should use these for God
What does non literalist mean?
The story of creation was mythical and it was only believed at the time to be true. The ideas of creation to be unacceptable.
What does evaluation mean?
A theory developed by Charles Darwin. Animals adapted to changes in their environment and passed on their characteristics to a new generation.
What does environment mean?
The surrounding in which we live for which religions teach we are responsible,believers see this as Gods creation.
What does domination mean?
Being in charge of the world for God,having power or responsibility which was given to humans by God.
What does khalifah mean?
An agent or steward working for Allah,a duty expected of all Muslims to care for the world and all it’s inhabitants.
What does stewardship mean?
To guard over something for the real owner,a God given responsibility to manage or control the Earth.
What does fitrah mean?
Muslims believe that the survival of the world relies on humans maintaing the natural balance or fitrah. They see it as their duty not to waste valued resources such as water or to damage the world around them. They must use their skills to keep the balance that Allah created.
