206.12 ACCEPTING HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE

Question 1

To protect the safety of citizens, the Phoenix Fire Department will accept household hazardous waste from private citizens when:

Answer 1

1. A private citizen brings unsolicited hazardous waste to the fire station; and
2. The safety hazard is of such concern that the private citizen should not be turned away with
   the household hazardous waste for his disposal or for holding until the next household
   hazardous waste collection event; and
3. The citizen is a resident of the City of Phoenix; and
4. The hazardous waste was derived from the household and NOT FROM A BUSINESS; and,
   5.The materials are not recyclable, such as used oil, paint or batteries.

Question 2

Any station accepting household hazardous waste shall immediately request assistance through the Dispatch Room Captain by contacting who?
