Pressure to find a peaceful solution was immense from the public so the Paris peace accords in 1973 aimed to call a ceasefire! THIEU (south Vietnam) had previously refused to sign a peace treaty in fear America would abandon them but in 1973 he was forced to sign the Paris peace accords and so was north Vietnam due to the threat of air strikes from America.
