A

Balck people were only allowed to sit into the “coloured” only seats
1st of December 1955 Rosa parks didn’t get off the seat for a white man and was arrested
The MIA was set up and told black people to boycott
Rosa was part of the NAACP

Importance and success of the boycott and the change in the law

A

The bus boycott showed that peaceful protest and unity were one method to achieve equality

When black people boycotted the buses lost a lot of money and the supreme Court ruled segregation on buses unconstitutional

A

This was an act passes by president Eisenhower

emphasised that everyone should be allowed to vote, followed the success of the boycott and stated all people had the right to serve as juries

A

He was a minister from Alabama who was part of the leader of the MIA (with Ralph Abernathy) and leader of the SCLC
He was an excellent public speaker, followed the ideas of Ghandi and Jesus
Believed in peace
