What are the advantages of electro acup?
Current stimulates a larger area around insertion site.
Can be used on patch electrodes for needle phobia.
Can enhance result
Less time and manipulation needed.
Better results, longer lasting
Stronger stimulation possible with less tissue damage.
Specific effects inherent to ea can be obtained in addition to point selection. Analgesic.
What are some contraindications?
Pregnancy
Acute febrile disease , serious infections
Over the carotid sinus or near larynx
Avoid use on head or the skull esp. For children
Avoid crossing the midline, close to heart, throat and spinal cord.
Cardiac conditions
Epilepsy
Hypertension
Deficient patients
Caution in vicinity of metal implants
Acute venous condition
Is there a Potential drug interaction?
Medication that affects neurotransmitters.
Diazepam narcotics, analgesics
