What are semi permanent needles?

A

Small needles for the purpose of retaining them in acupuncture points or specific areas for a longer time.,longer than the average acup. Tx.

Indications?

A

Chronic, painful disorders: tension headaches, migraines, neurasthenia, hypertension, asthma, irreg. menstruation, nausea..

What are the contraindications and cautions?

A

Pimples, moles
Deficient patients
Only 1-2 needles per patient
Clean and disinfect area
The semipermanent needles shouldn’t cause pain or limit movement
Hot weather or patients that are involved in activities that compromise the cleanliness of insertion site, the needles shouldn’t stay in long.
Outer ear infections are difficult to heal and can become serious.
Consider ear seeds as alternative.

Intradermal tack needle for ear. Perp. To skin surface
