Last Judgement
Last day of human history.
The Resurrection of the Just / Unjust takes place, Jesus will come again.
Only God knows when this will take place.
God’s justice will triumph over sin.
Christians look forward to this day.
Day of transformation, restoration of the physical universe.
We should always be ready, live like Christ.
People of God (Images of the Church)
Laity = members of the Church.
Baptized share Jesus’ role of priest, prophet, king.
Tasks/Challenges = preaching the Gospel, living as a holy community, serving others.
Liturgy = work of the public or people
Temple of the HS (Images of the Church)
HS is the soul of the Church.
Builds us up, gives life to the church.
Makes us holy.
HS helps us keep up the work of salvation.
HS uses sacraments, scripture, graces, virtues, charisms to build the Church.
Catholic (Marks of the Church)
Catholic = universal or general, used by St. Ignatius.
Universal because it has fullness of means of salvation.
Follows Jesus command to go out to all people.
Teaches everything that Jesus taught.
Apostolic (Marks of the Church)
Because it continues the faith of the apostles.
Founded on the apostles.
Continues to hand on teachings of the apostles.
Led by the college of bishops.
Apostle = one who is sent.
