Describe the packaging of M700 time fuse.
Dark green plastic cover, black powder core; may be marked with a single yellow band every 12-18” and a double band every 60-90”. Issued in 50’ coils.
What is the Average burn rate of one foot of time fuse?
ABR = 40 sec./1’ (+ or - 5 sec.)
What is the NEW of a roll of Det cord?
NEW = 12.8 lbs. of petn/1000’
How many inches can moisture penetrate Det cord and what actions should you take to prevent this from happening?
Moisture can penetrate up to 6”. To prevent this cut 6” off or leave a 6” tail when making connections and priming charges.
How many volts do you need to initiate a M6 electric blasting cap?
1.5amps or 3 volts
What are the explosive contents of a M7 nonelectric blasting cap?
Ignition charge(Lead syphinate) Intermediate charge (Lead azide) Base Charge (RDX, Petn, of HMX)
With what explosive can you use a M1A4 priming adapter?
Used with M6 or M7 (used to secure blasting caps into explosive)
M8 blasting cap holder?
Sheet explosive (M186)(secures blasting cap on sheet explosive)
Explain the characteristics of M2 crimpers.
2 Jaws: top jaw for crimping bottom jaw for cutting time fuse and det cord
2 Legs: pointed end for priming wells and flat end is a standard bit screwdriver.
non sparking black oxidized finish
What are the only authorized uses of a demolition multitool?
use knife to cut time fuse and C4
Explain the differences between the M60 and M81 blasting igniters.
M60: designed to initiate M700 in all weather conditions, cannot initiate shock tube.
M81: more energetic primer. has shock tube reducer to accompany MDI and M700
both are similar in design.
How many M6 caps can a CD450-4J reliable fire in a series?
70
