2 Elementary Shapes Flashcards
(10 cards)
What is a Scalence, Isosceles and Equilateral traingle?
Scalence - No sides are equal.
Isosceles - Two sides are equal
Equilateral - All three sides are equal
What are acute, obtuse and right angled triangles?
Acute - All three angles of a triangle should be acute.
Obtuse - Any one angle should be obtuse.
Right angled - One angle is 90 degrees.
Can we create a triangle with two obtuse angles? Why?
No. If two angles are obtuse their sides never meet.
Can we create a triangle with two acute angles? Why is it possible?
If two angles are acute in a triangle, their sides are going to intersect at a point making it a triangle
Can we create triangle with two right angles? Why?
If two angles are right angled, their sides never meet.
A polygon with 3,4,5,6,8?
Triangle, Quadrilateral, Pentagon, Hexagon, Octagon
Name some 3D shapes?
Prism, Pyramid, Cuboid, Cube, Sphere.
What are faces, edges and vertices of a 3D shapes?
Faces - Flat surface
Edge - A line segment where two faces are met
Vertices - Three edges meet at a point called vertex.
What is a prism and pyramid?
Prism - Any two opposite faces are equal (they are called bases), parallel and lateral faces may or may not be equal.
Pyramid - Only one base (could be of any shape - triangle, rectangle, square, pentagon, etc) but the other faces should be triangle.
What are the other 3D shapes that doesn’t have straight edges?
Cylinder, Cone and Sphere.
