New Racism
more discreet forms of racism that are not overt, like following someone around the store
Ideology
set of beliefs that provides members of a group with an explanation of their world
Racialized Social Systems
it endorses not doing anything about the problem, racial heirarchies, how they impact social relations
Color Blind Racism
Saying that you don’t see race is problematic because it denies race, its problematic because it looks for reasons other than race to explain inequality

Abstract Liberalism
Using freedom of choice as a justification for racial inequality. eg; Thinking black people can just leave certain neighborhoods instead of complaining
Naturalization
thinking segregation is just a natural preference, saying that things naturally fall into place that way when in reality there is a reason it ended up like that
Cultural Racism
certain races aren’t smart enough to get jobs, saying that a person’s dysfunctional culture is why people are in this position
Minimization of Racism
suggesting that racism is not a big factor anymore, eg “most employers are not racist, this is just a rare occurrence”
Democratic Racism
conflict in justice that conflict with feelings, attitudes, and behaviours
