In the city center. This is Tian’Anmen.

Zài shì zhōng xīn. Zhè jiù shì Tiān ān mén.
在市中心。这就是天安门。

Yes, the Forbidden City is located to the north of Tian’AnMen.

故宫是不是在它北边？
Duì, Gù gōng zài Tiān ān mén běi bian.

Between the zoo and the library.

Yes. You can say, there are restaurants everywhere.

Yǒu, Kě yǐ shuō, dào chù shì fàn guǎnr.
有。可以说，到处是饭馆儿。
What is the place across from the train station?
A hotel / restaurant, and there is a parking lot in front.
Huǒ chē zhàn duì miàn shì shén me dì fang?
火车站对面是什么地方？
Yí gè fàn diàn, qián bian shì tíng chē chǎng.
一个饭店，前边是停车场。
Note: In Chinese, 饭店 can be either hotel or restaurant.
Is the Summer Palace far from here?
Not far, very close, just on the west side of Beijing University.
Yí hé yuan lí zhèr yuan bù yuǎn?
颐和园离这儿远不远？
Bù yuǎn, hěn jìn, jiù zài Běi Dà xī bian.
不远，很近，就在北大西边。
How far is Beijing University from here?
About 5 kilometers.

从这儿到北大有多远？
Dà yuē yǒu wǔ gōng lǐ.
大约有五公里。
How long does it take by car?
If there’s no traffic jam, less than half an hour.
Kāi chē yào yòng duō cháng shí jiān?
开车要用多长时间？
Yào shì bù dǔ chē de huà, yòng bù liǎo bàn gè xiǎo shí
要是不堵车的话，用不了半个小时。

Go straight forward, at the crosssection, turn right, walk 5 minutes and you’ll be there.

Yì zhí wǎng qián zǒu, dào shí zì lù kǒu xiàng yòu guái, zǒu wǔ fēn zhōng jiù dào le.
