What is social media?
Interactive technologies that you can use to make and share things online. You can share ideas and thoughts, images, videos , and writing.
What is content?
Things that are made and shared online. The things you make using social media are called user-generated content.
What are the advantages of creating a fake social media profile?
-Allows you to express your individuality without being criticized by others
-Allows you to try try out different types of personalities
-Allows you to post content that is tailored to specific people
-Allows you To post personal content for friends and family only
-To protect yourself
-To post private thoughts, rude or worrying content.
Disadvantages of fake social media profile ?
-You might see inappropriate content.
-It can be hard to keep track of which profile you’re using ( you might accidentally upset people if you post a comment form the wrong profile).
-Fake social media profiles try to get personal or private information from you or even money.
-Fake social media profiles try to influence your views on important issues
-Many scammers use fake profiles
How to spot a fake social media profile (4)?
- The content doesn’t make sense
- The profile has very little activity (only profile picture)
- They follow a surprisingly large number of people
- The profile picture looks fake

-Help you to connect to close people, new people, and people trying to sell you things. In a social networking site you can share your thoughts, images and videos.
Eg: Instagram, twitter
What is a social review site?
People post reviews about products and experiences they’ve had , for other people to read and gain trust of the product .
Eg: Yelp, Booking
What are image sharing and video hosting sites?
-People using these sites can share and view images and videos. The company that runs the site and the users can curate the content.
Eg: YouTube , Twitch.
What are microblogging sites?
Microblogging means making shirt messages that can be shared with many people at once. You can use the hashtag (#) symbol to help other people find your content.
Eg: Reddit, Pinterest
What content should you share with different people?
-Share personal information with people trust
-Share information about local events or content of other people with people you do not know.
What are your warning feelings?
Sometimes people misbehave on social media, so you need to listen to your warning feeling:
-Slow down
-Think about the situation
-Think about your choices
-Act wisely
What does curate mean?
Group together content in ways that make sense for the user, and make it easier for the user to find what they’re interested in.
