Q

What does a bulb provide?

A

provides light

17
Q

What does a switch do?

A

opens and closes the electric circuit

18
Q

What do the wires do?

A

Wires allow the power from the battery to flow through to the bulb.

19
Q

What is mechanical energy?

A

Mechanical energy is energy that uses muscle or motor energy. (Muscles or machines). Examples - we use mechanical energy in a car when we ride to the store, in our bodies when we carry our schoolbags, and in the bus when we are taken to school.

20
Q

What is heat energy?

A

Heat energy is the transfer of energy from a warmer object to a colder object. Basically, heat energy heats things up. Example - we use heat energy when we cook, when we use blankets, and when we roast marshmallows over a fire.

21
Q

What is a conductor?

A

A conductor is a material that allows heat and/or electricity to flow through it very easy. (examples are different types of metals and water)

22
Q

What is an insulator?

A

An insulator is a material which stops the movement of heat and/or electricity. It doesn’t flow through it easily. (examples - rubber, plastic, wool, glass and wood)
