Give a brief overview of hunting in the Mycenaean age?

A

It was a very important activity at the time. As most of Greece was suitable for farmland and the flat for growing crops hunting was essential so that people could eat meat.

A

Frescoes, scenes on daggers and carving on ring.
Most famous one is the lion hunt dagger

Too intricate to be used for hunting so most likely an ornamental object.
Most likely belonged to a king- symbol of status+ wealth
Hunting a lion was the greatest challenge at the time
