What is an Electrical Circuit?
A set of electrical components put together in such a way that a charge can go through it.
What is a Schematic Program?
A diagram that shows the construction of an electrical circuit or apparatus.
What do Switches do?
Switches toggle the flow of electricity in a system.
What is a Series Circuit?
An electrical system where electricity only has one way to flow.
What is a Parallel Circuit?
A circuit where all components are connected to eachother side-by-side.
What is Electrical Energy?
The energy associated with charged particles because of their positions.
What is the Electrical Power Equation?
Power=Current*Voltage (P=IV)
What is the SI Unit for Electrical Power?
The Watt.
What is a Fuse?
A part that is connected to circuits to prevent overloading.
Why do some Fuses ‘Blow Out?’
Fuses blow out when the current in a circuit reaches a certain level.
What is a Circuit Breaker?
A replacement for fuses, Circuit Breakers use either a magnet or a bimetallic strip to open the circuit when it detects overloading.
Why are Circuit Breakers used over Fuses?
Unlike Fuses, Circuit Breakers can be reset by being switched back on.
What is an Electric Meter?
A device that records energy consumption.
What is the formula for calculating energy lost by Resistors?
i^2*R or V^2/R
What is an Open Circuit?
A system where there is no complete path for charge to flow through.
