What are the four standards underlining the general framework for ethics?

A
  1. Utilitarian approach- an ethical actions provides the most good or does the least harm.
  2. The rights approach- ethical action best protects and respects the moral rights of the affected parties.
  3. Fairness approach- ethical actions treat all human beings equally or fairly based of some defensible standard.
  4. Common good approach- common conditions and welfare of all. Interlocking relationships underlying all societies.
