  • chronic inflammatory disorder, predominately affecting younger adult males which distinctively involve the axial skeleton.
  • articular ankylosis (s a stiffness of a joint due to abnormal adhesion and rigidity of the bones of the joint)
  • ligament ossification,
  • enthesopathy characterise the condition (A disease process occurring at the site of insertion of muscle tendons and ligaments into bones or joint capsules.)
