Point of view
The perspective from different angles of a story or of where the story is told.
Narrative
The telling of a story or an account of an event or series of events.
Personification
A figure of speech in which the author presents or describes concepts, animals, or inanimate objects by endowing them with human attributes or emotions.
Prose
A type of genre that refers to ordinary forms of nonfiction and fiction.
Parody
A work that closely imitates the style or content of another with the specific aim of comic effect and /or ridicule.
Periodic Sentence
A sentence that presents its central meaning in a main clause at the end.
Sarcasm
Language that is used to ridicule or hurt someone or something.
Rhetorical modes
Different descriptions of major works of literature of writing,which include exposition, argumentation, description, narration.
Rhetoric
This term describes the principles governing the art of writing effectively.
Pedantic
An adjective that describes words, phrases, or general tone that is overly scholarly, academic, bookish.
Repetition
The duplication, either exact or approximate, of any element of language, such as sound, word, phrase, clause, sentence, grammatical pattern.
Theme
The central idea or message of a work, the insight it offers life.
Satire
A work that targets human vices and follies, or social institutions and conventions, to reform or ridicule.
Thesis
The sentences or group of sentences that directly expresses the author’s opinion, purpose, meaning, or position.
Semantics
The study of actual meaning in languages; word combinations and phrases.
