Anatomy Flashcards
Describe the greater omentum
A double layer of peritoneum which hangs from greater curvature of the stomach, then comes up to the transverse colon
Describe the lesser omentum
A double layer of peritoneum which hangs from lesser curvature of the stomach to the liver and duodenum
Describe the falciform ligament
Attaches the liver to the anterior abdominal wall
Describe the paracolic gutters
Run along lateral aspects of ascending and descending colons
Describe the blood supply to the stomach
Right gastric (off of hepatic) and left gastric (off of coeliac) supply the lesser curve, Right gastroepiploic (off of gastroduodenal) and Left gastroepiploic (off of splenic)
Describe the venous drainage of the stomach
Left and right gastric (into the hepatic portal) drain the lesser curve, Left gastro-omental (into the splenic) drains the left of the greater curve, Right gastro-omental (into the superior mesenteric) drains the right of the greater curve
Describe the biliary duct system
Canaliculli, then bile ducts, the left or right hepatic duct which form common hepatic duct. Common hepatic duct combines with cystic duct from gall bladder to form common bile duct which joins to the duodenum
Describe hepatic lobules
Hexagonal structure with hepatic triad at corners and central vein in the middle
Describe a hepatic triad
Hepatic artery, Hepatic portal vein, Bile duct
Height of body of the pancreas
L1 - L2
Bloody supply to the pancreas
Posterior and anterior pancreatic duodenal (off of gastroduodenal), Dorsal and greater pancreatic (off of splenic)
Venous drainage of the pancreas
Inferior and superior pancreaticoduodenal
Blood supply to the spleen
Splenic
Venous drainage of the spleen
Splenic
Name the vein that form the hepatic portal vein
Superior mesenteric and splenic
