L9 Flashcards
myogenic response
afferent arteriole smooth muscle contracts when sstretched and relaxes on lowering distending pressure
- mediated by stretch sensitive cation channels
- efferent arterioles do not seem to respond to changes in stretch and therefore do not contribute to myogenic response
tgf
changes in gfr induced by changes in the flow rate of the fuluid perfusing the macula densa, because macula densa senses increase in concentration NaCl (increase in rate of NKCC2 transporters, which increases Ca or cell volume and leads to release of ATP)
-more sensitive with volume contraction (and rise in plasma A2) and less sensitive with volume expansion
GT balance
increase in in filtration of Na, increase in reabsorption in proximal tubule, loop of henle, and distal tubule
What is the equation for RPF
=C pah
=(1-HCT) x RBF
Eqn for FF
GFR/RPF
How would you calculate how much solute is reabsorbed
Filtered - excreted
PxGFR - UxV
If glomerular disease lowered GFR by reducing surface area, what is the auto regulatory response
TGF causes renin release
