scaled needles, not ironed flat (not ceder or incense), cone looks like soccer ball w/ spikes, tufts of foliage, big, spiraling trunks turn as they grow

Compound alternate pinnate leaf. Oval, opposite leaflets, entire/smooth margin
Thorns mark where leaves once grew (stipuol)
