Weathering
Describes the breaking down or dissolving of rocks and minerals on the surface of the Earth.
Soil
A mixture of organic matter, minerals, gases, liquids, and organisms that together support life.
Erosion
The geological process in which earthen materials are worn away and transported by natural forces such as wind or water.
Sediment transport
It’s the movement of solid particles typically due to a combination of gravity acting on the sediment, or the movement of the fluid in which the sediment is entrained.
Deposition
The geological process where material is added to land (or landform.)
Drainage basin
Area from which all precipitation flows to a single stream or set of streams.
Longshore current
Are generated when a “train” of waves reach the coastlines and release burst of energy, and when it reaches a beach or coastline it generates a current.
