Lymphatic System Flashcards

1
Q

A

Fluid lost from vascular capillary beds during nutrient exchange processes and deliver it back to venous side of vascular system. Also collect pathogens, cells of the lymphocytic system, cell products (hormones, etc.) and cell debris

Q

Lymph nodes

A

0.1-2.5 cm long, small encapsulated structures that interrupt the course of lymphatic vessels and contain elements of the body’s defense system. Function as elaborate filters and flow through them is slow.
