What happened in 1866?
A
The lieutenant-governor that was appointed by Britain was told to promote Confederation. He pressured the anti-Confederation party into resigning. He then appointed another pro-Confederation government and called another election. Tilley was re-elected. The new assembly voted for Confederation.
