What is private law?
Law denoting to private relationships between individuals.
What are the three types of private law?
- Tort law.
- Property law.
What is contract law?
An agreement between parties bound by contract signing.
What is tort law?
A civil wronging resulting in the violation of another's rights.
What is property law?
Law which governs the rightful ownership of a commercial property.
What is criminal law?
The body of law which instills punishment for crimes.
What is a plaintiff?
The initiation of a civil action.
What is the 'burden of proof'?
The responsibility to prove a side as guilty.
What is the 'standard of proof'?
The standard at which the defendant is guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

What is a judge?
Somebody who ensures the appropriate sentencing of an individual.
What is a magistrate?
An individual in charge of a lower court with the same responsibility of a judge.
What is a judge's associate?
A judge's secretary.
