DIVINE REVELATION: 1. Plagues: God revealed to Egypt and Israel that He was to be known as the God; “I am”, Yahweh. He showed them that He was above all other gods, including pharaoh. The plagues could be connected to many of the Egyptian gods, showing that God was in control, not the gods, even though the certain plague was supposed to be that gods main area of control.

RELIGIOUS AND MILITARY CONFLICT BETWEEN GOD AND EGYPT: The plagues can be connect to Egyptian gods, showing that God was in control, not the gods, even though the certain plague was supposed to be that gods main area of control.
God protects them from Egypt’s army through the pillar of fire and the flooding of them with the red sea. God is Israel’s protector.

A

THE IMPACT OF THE EXODUS ON FUTURE GENERATIONS: 1. Celebrated the Passover every year. Ate bitter herbs to remember the bitter times in Egypt, and unleavened bread to show the quick deliverance God fulfilled. (didn’t have time to let yeast rise) 2. Passover signified the birth of their nation. God created it as a nation. 3. Exodus always referred to in Jewish writings. Reminds Jews that they belong to God, He saved them.
Passover to Christianity is communion. Jesus is our Passover lamb.
