CABIN ALTITUDE or Rapid Depressurization QRH- 2.1

A
  • Don the oxygen masks
  • Establish crew communications
  • Check the cabin altitude and rate
  • If the cabin altitude is uncontrollable
    • If PAX:
      • PASS OXY switch - Push and hold for 1 second
    • Emergency descent - Initiate
    • Thrust levers (both) - Idle
    • Speedbrake - UP
  • If structural damage is not suspected:
    • Target speed - VMO/MMO
  • If strutural damage is suspected:
    • Target speed - At or less than current IAS
    • Limit airspeed and avoid high manouvering loads
  • If JA605F:
    • SPeedbrakes may autostow to 50% at 320kts. Do not override until speed less than 315kts
  • Transponder - 7700
  • Descend to the lowest safe altitude or 10,000ft whichever is higher

  • VERIFY OPERATION OF AUTOBRAKES OR APPLY MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE BRAKING
  • MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE REVERSE THRUST
  • (If speed brake lever did not move UP automatically) SPEEDBRAKE LEVER UP
  • Continue maximum braking till A/C is decelerated sufficiently
  • When flight is not continued perform after LDG procedures
  • When flight is continued see T/O weight limit by brake temp as described in chapter 2

  • Disengage A/P
  • Disconnect A/T
  • Aggressively apply maximum thrust
  • Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate to an initial pitch atttude of 20’
  • Set the SPEEDBRAKE lever to DOWN
  • If terrain remains a threat, continue rotation up to pitch limit indicator, stick shaker or initial buffet
  • Do not change flap or gear configuration until terrain separation is assured
  • Monitor RADALT for sustained or increasing terrain separation
  • When clear of terrain, slowly decrease pitch attitude and accelerate
  • FLIGHT AT STICK SHAKER MAY BE REQ’D
  • DO NOT USE F/D COMMANDS

  • CONTINUE - Maintain SPD conduct OEI LDG.

  • ROLL in shortest direction to wings LVL
  • ADVANCE thrust
  • SPEEDBRAKE DOWN
  • Do not change Gear & Flap except during liftoff if Flaps are UP call for Flaps 1
  • Complete the Recovery
  • Check A/S and adjust thrust as req’d
  • Establish pitch ATT
  • Return to desired flight path
  • Re-engage A/P & A/T if desired

  • No N1 rotation by 30 seconds after N2 is stabalized at idle
  • EGT quickly or near exceeds the start limit

  • After V1 - Rotate at normal rate to 15’ after airborne perform Windshear escape maneuver
  • IF WINDSHEAR ENCOUNTERED AND A/S DECREASES AND NOT ENOUGH ROOM TO STOP
  • Initiate normal rotation at least 2,000ft before end of RWY even if A/s low
  • Higher than normal pitch ATT may be req’d
  • Ensure MAX thrust set
