What is Basic mode?

A

When TAS is not available AHRS is not able to apply acceleration correction and the EADI will behave similar to a mechanical gimballed gyro.

What is DG mode?

A

If a flux valve malfunction occurs a red SLAVE light will illuminate and a heading flag will appear. Putting the system in DG mode the AHRS do not receive magnetic heading data and the crew must slew the heading to match the standby compass.
