17
Q

What does N1 limit do?

A

Indicated by an Amber line on the dial but does not change colour when max N1 is reached.

18
Q

What is the Derate for Takeoff 1 & 2?

A

Takeoff 1 (300)- 95%. (300ER,F)- 90%Takeoff 2 (300)-85%. (300ER,F)- 80%

19
Q

When will Derates thrust remain until?

A

ABV 10,000ft Derates thrust gradually changes to reach full CLB thrust by:300-12,000ft the 1 or 2 annunciation disappears from the display by 12,500ft300ER,F- 30,000ft. The 1 annunciation disappears by 30,500ft The 2 annunciation remains until either flaps are extended or GA

20
Q

What are the engines covered for by the EEC in normal mode?

A

N1, N2 protection but no EGT protection.

21
Q

EEC Soft mode

A

Auto switches to this mode when switches in NORM. Thrust will be fixed and will not change.

22
Q

Hard Alternate mode

A

ALTN is manually selected on the EEC mode switch. Reference and target N1 and maximum commanded N1 values are displayed on the N1 indication.

23
Q

What protection is provided in the ALTN modes

A

Thrust protection not provided and maximum rated thrust is reached at a thrust lever position less than full forward. As a result thrust overboost can occur at full forward thrust lever positions.N1,N2 redline protection is still available in the ALTN control mode.

24
Q

What are the two idle speeds and when are they selected

A

Minimum Idle: lower thrust setting used for for ground ops and all stages of flight except approach & landing.Approach Idle: selected whenever the higher idle setting is required for proper system operation.EEC AUTOMATICALLY SELECTS IDLE SPEEDS

25
Q

What is displayed on the EGT during start

A

Maximum start line limit, displayed until engine is stable

26
Q

Starter duty cycle

A

Five minutes on, followed by one- half minute off per minute on.

27
Q

When does the in flight start envelope display on the primary display and what does it indicate?

A

ENG is not running in flightRespective Fire SW not pulledBoth EICAS prim & sec are selectedDisplays closest starting FL and two descending FL’s at 2000ft intervals.

28
Q

Auto relight?

A

In air or on ground, automatic relight feature is enabled if N2 drops below idle SPD.EEC energizes both ignition systems.

29
Q

When do the Engine and Spar valves open?

A

When the fuel CONT switch is in the RUN position and the ENG fire SW is in.

30
Q

Where is fuel flow measured from?

A

After passing through the engine fuel valve.

31
Q

Where is the oil temp measured from?

A

After leaving the scavenge pump, prior to entering the second filter.

32
Q

Is there a minimum oil quantity limit?

A

There’s is no min oil quantity limit, (no amber or red line)

33
Q

What happens when the reverses are pulled aft to the interlock position?

A

A/T disengagesAuto speed brakes deploy

34
Q

Is oil quantity displayed in litres or quarts?

A

Quarts

35
Q

When should the engine start selector move from GND to AUTO during an engine start?

A

50% N2

36
Q

With the ENG start selectors in AUTO when will the selected igniters continuously operate?

A

With slats extended or ENG anti ice on

37
Q

Is there a time limit to continuous ignition or flight ignition?

A

No time limit

38
Q

What is the purpose of selecting FLT on the ENG start selectors following a loss of dual engine failure?

A

FADEC- Auto relight which will operate both igniters when N2 drops below idle speed.

39
Q

When is the red EGT start limit line of 750degrees displayed when on the ground?

A

Fuel control SW is in cut off position, remains displayed when fuel CONT SW is moved to RUN until the engine is stabilised at idle (FADEC- 10sec after N2 reaches 60%) (NON-FADEC- 5 sec after N2 reaches 60%)

40
Q

What happens when the Fuel CONT SW is positioned to RUN?

A

Opens ENG & SPAR valvesActivates selected igniters

41
Q

Can autothrottle sill remain engaged in EEC hard and soft modes?

A

Yes

42
Q

What does pulling up the reversers do?

A

Disengages AutothrottleDeploys speed brakes if in down position
