Endometriosis

Presence of endometrial glands and stroma outside of uterus

Cyclic bleeding

Can become blood filled cysts (chocolate cysts)

Discharge of blood leads to reactive changes, fibrosis and adhesions

Histology = Endometrial glands + stroma +/- hemosiderin
