St Paul also uses the story of Adam and Eve in Genesis to show that men have been given more rights by God because Adam was created first

The creation story in Genesis 1 says that God created male and female at the same time in his image and therefore of equal status

It is the teaching of the Catholic Catechism that men and women are equal

Only men can be priests because the apostles were all men

Only men can be priests because Jesus was a man
