Stem cells are different types of cell that depend on the instructions they’re given

Stem cells are found in early human embryos and have the potential to turn into any kind of cell at all and adult stem cells can be found in bone marrow but are less versatile

A
Healthy stem cells are used to replace those that are diseased and can also be specialised to perform particular functions e.g. insulin-producing cells for those with diabetes
