A

A more reactive metal can displace a less reactive metal from its oxide.

copper oxide + iron ► iron oxide + copper

iron is more reactive, so it takes the oxygen away from copper.

Aluminium oxide is extracted from the ore BAUXITE dissolved in molten CRYOLITE.

Temperature 1500 degreese celcius large quantities of electricity used.
