Born 43 BCE in Sulmo, author of elegiac poems on love and a hexameter poem which some call an epic on transformations, the Metamorphosis, and a tragedy (lost) on Medea.

Poet, married young, soon divorced. First wife probably the model for Corinna. Daughter by his second wife, who probably died in childbirth. Third wife very loyal and defended him in Rome after he was exiled.
Ovid
A man-about-town, devoted to life in Rome, member of the literary circle around Mesalla, somehow close to the imperial family, probably associated with Julia the Younger. In CE he was exiled by Augustus to Tomis on the Black sea, for Carmen et error, a poem and a mistake. When Tiberius became emperor in 14 CE, he refused to rescind the order of exile. Ovid died in 17 or 18.

(Greek: Eros) Son of Venus; often represented as a child with a bow and arrow, but also often represented as a teenager. His arrows caused mortals to fall in love. Related, through his mother, to Aeneas and the Julian family. Mars is his stepfather.
