The Four Noble Truths

A
  1. People suffer (dukkha) - we suffer from physical or emotional pain and longing.
  2. Suffering is caused by desire, greed, ignorance and attachment
  3. To remove suffering, we must remove desire, greed, etc - great discipline
  4. To end suffering, people should follow the Noble Eightfold Path to achieve enlightenment, unending peace, and freedom from desire
