What are the 6 contraindications of traction?

A
  1. Structure fault due to tumor or infection
  2. Vascular compromise, especially vertebral artery
  3. Any situation more movement is not indicated (fracture)
  4. Major acute neck injury
  5. Rheumatoid arthritis
  6. Other situations with a ligament laxity for example, Down syndrome

  1. Acute strains
  2. Pregnancy because of lacks ligaments
  3. Osteoporosis
  4. Hiatal hernia
  5. Claustrophobia or other safety concerns
  6. Severe pain that is fully resolved by traction
