Iliotibial Band Syndrome (ITB Syn)

A
  • over training, running on uneven surface
  • lat knee pain as ITB rubs over lat fem condyle, tender Gerdy’s tubercle
  • RICE (rest, ice, elevation, compression), heat, NSAIDs, steroid injection, PT (ITB and TFL stretching, hip adductor strengthening

  • pain and tenderness at medial prox tibia

- RICE, heat, NSAIDs, steroid inj, PT (sartorius, gracilis, hamstring stretching and modalities)

A
  • overuse, muscular imbalance, pes planus (flat foot), increased Q angle
  • anterior knee pain worse with prolonged sitting or descending stairs
  • RICE, PT to address the biomechanical imbalances, quad strengthening
