Vascular plant
A plant that has tissues to deliver water and nutrients from one part of the plant to another.
Gymnosperms
Non flowering seed plants.
Angiosperms
Flowering seed plants.
Rhizoid
A rootlike structure that holds Nonvascular plants in place.
Rhizome
Is a under ground stem from which new leaves and roots grow.
Pollen
Sperm from inside tiny structures.
Pollination
The transfer of pollen from the male cones can be on female cones.
Xylem
Is vascular tissue that transports from the roots to the shoots.
Phloem
Is vascular tissue that transports food molecules to all parts of a plant.
Sepals
Are modified leaves that make up the outmost ring of flower parts and protect the bud.
Petals
Are broad, flat, thin like parts of a flower.
Stamen
Is a male reproductive structure of flowers.
Pistil
Is the female reproductive structure of a flower.
Ovary
The round base of a pistil that contains one or more ovules.
Nonvascular plant
A plant that doesn’t have specialized tissues to move water and nutrients through the plant.
