Q

What are three features that help a leopard seal survive?

A
  • Blubber to keep them warm
  • Whiskers for detecting
  • Body shape designed for swimming
17
Q

What’s behavioral adaption?

A

The adaption an organism makes to its behavioral habits to help it survive.

18
Q

Physical Adaptions?

A

An adaption an organism makes to its physical appearance or structure to help it survive.

19
Q

Food and plants have…

A

Carbon

20
Q

The carbon cycle.

A

Atmosphere (CO2)◀️ Respiration (animals create and goes into atmosphere)◀️ Animals (Die and decay)◀️ Glucose feeding (animals eat glucose made plants) ◀️ Plants (45% carbon from atmosphere)

21
Q

Define decomposition?

A

Decomposition is the matter that is being broken down into different substances. This takes place on food, plants, and dead animals.

22
Q

How does decomposition occur?

A

Leaves fall off trees and get decomposed.
Insects and fungi help decomposition.
Broken down into mineral salts, water and co2.
Mineral salts are returned to the soil and co2 to the air.

23
Q

Name some decomposes?

A

Wood lice, millipedes, earthworms, lavas and bacteria. Termites help speed up the process. Fungi eats the dead plant matter. Crabs and sand hoppers too (feed on dead fish)

24
Q

What is an impact humans have on the enviroment?

A

Oil spills, air pollution from factories and cars, chopping trees down, dumping waste

25
Q

How can our impact on the environment be stopped?

A

Trees cut down in small numbers and re-grown, filters on factory chimneys, walk, create less waste.

26
Q

Causes of global warming?

A

Burning fossil fuels, industry and forestry.

27
Q

How does global warming occur?

A

Carbon accumulates and overloads our atmosphere, this is the greenhouse effect, where the sun rays become trapped in our atmosphere by the greenhouse gases making the temperature rise.

28
Q

MES GREN?

A
Movement
Respiration
Sensitivity
Growth
Reproduction
Excretion
Nutrition
29
Q

What are producers?

A

The first link in the food chain. Make their own food by photosynthesis.
