A

What causes liver damage?

A

Prolonged and excessive alcohol consumption causing acetaldehyde accumulation. Excess NADH and acetyl-CoA.

Disulfiram is given which is an inhibitor of aldehyde dehydrogenase so there is an accumulation of acetaldehyde causing a hangover.
