Q

What is clock speed?

A

Clock speed determines the speed of the processor. One clock cycle will process one word of data.

The clock speed is measured in MHz or GHz

Faster clock speed = more instructions processed per second = faster processing

Q

What are multiple processing cores?

A

Processors often have multiple cores. Each core can process simultaneously

More cores = more instructions processed simultaneously per second = faster processing

Q

What is cache memory?

A

Cache memory is used between faster and slower devices to let them work more quickly together.

It buffers the data to feed into the slower device and frees up the faster device for the next process

Q

What are data buses?

A

A data bus is a circuit which connects one part of the motherboard to another. The more data it can handle, the faster information can travel.

More buses = computer runs faster
