Q

What can calcium hydroxide be used for

A

To neutralise acids as it is an alkali. E.g. Farmers use it to neutralise acidic soil and in industry to neutralise acidic gases

7
Q

Describe the process of the limestone cycle

A

Calcium carbonate is heated to produce calcium oxide and give off carbon dioxide. Add water to produce carbon hydroxide and add more water and filter to produce carbon hydroxide solution. Add carbon dioxide to form calcium carbonate again
