Q

What happens if a patient inclines the body backward during a seated QUADRICEPS FEMORIS manual muscle test?

A

It may be evidence of an attempt to release hamstring tension.
The TFL exerts a stronger pull if the hip is extended.
If the rectus femoris is the stronger part of the quadriceps, the patient will lean backward. (Kendall, 421)
