  5. drive by shootings (where no one is injured),
  6. vandalism and /or property damage and
  7. other misdemeanors

A
  1. homicide,
  2. suicide,
  3. unknown deaths,
  4. rapes,
  5. child deaths,
  6. fire deaths,
  7. officer involved shootings (someone must be injured as a result of the shooting) and
  8. calls related directly to an open ongoing major case investigation of one of the above

Juvenile criminal suspects may be fingerprinted at the Crime Scene Unit Office under the following conditions

A

a. The investigator has a court order from the Juvenile Court judge that directs that the juvenile be fingerprinted;
b. The investigator has obtained a valid consent to fingerprint from the parent or legal guardian;
c. The juvenile is under arrest for a felony offense or;
d. If latent fingerprints are found during the investigation of an offense and a law enforcement officer has probable cause to believe that they are those of a particular child, such officer may fingerprint the child regardless of age or offense for purposes of immediate comparison with the latent fingerprints. If the comparison is negative, the fingerprint card and other copies of the fingerprints taken shall be immediately destroyed. If the child is not referred to the court or the case is dismissed, the fingerprints shall be immediately destroyed.
