Q

What artery branches off of the left gastric artery and what does it supply?

Q

Vagal innervation is responsible for the functions of:

A
ruminoreticular contraction cycles
omasal contraction cycle
eructation
regurgitation
reflex closure of reticular groove
abomasal motility and secretion

15
Q

What is fatal vagal indigestion?

A

the lymph nodes can swell and cut off vagal innervation to the rumen, this paralyzes the rumen and causes swelling and gas to build up which compresses the lungs (animals usually die quickly)

Q

what is hardware’s disease?

A

when foreign objects get in the reticulum and penetrate the cranial wall causing inflammation or the peritoneal and pleural linings. It can also cause traumatic pericarditis and myocarditis in the heart

17
Q

What layers does the foreign object have to go through to get to the heart?

A

reticulum–> visceral peritoneum–> parietal peritoneum–> diaphragm and fascia –> diaphragmatic pleura –> cardial mediastinal parietal pleura –> fibrous pericardium –> parietal pericardium –> visceral pericardium –> myocardium
