Q

Alberta Sterilization Act

A

Passed in 1928

WWI had huge economic and social impact across the world

The dominant theory suggested that war was mainly caused by countries needing more land to accommodate growing populations

OBSERVATIONS

Mentally and social deficient and those who lived in poverty reproduced at a higher rate than the ideal individuals

They are a large burden to society, and the main source of violent crime

IMPLICATION

Sterilizing the poor, feeble-minded, and socially deficient is a preventative measure of war

ISSUES

IQ tests were not always accurate

Immigration and testing

THE ASA was terminated in 1972
