What is the urethra?
urethra directs urine from bladder to outside body.
Describe Internal urethral sphincter
located floor of bladder, controlled by autonomic nervous system
Describe external urethral sphincter
located pelvic floor, controlled by peripheral nervous system
describe female urethra
short and direct, urinary function only.
describe male urethra
long and 2 curvatures, urinary and reproductive function
What is sexual dimorphism
different genital systems for male and female.
What are purposes of secondary sex organs
- care for product of primary sex organs.

where are ovaries located?
sides of upper uterus
How are ovaries anchored
anchored with broad ligament
What are broad ligaments
broad ligaments are sheets or folds of peritoneum enclosing uterus and uterus tubes extending to sides of pelvis
What does ovary produce
Ovaries produce 1. egg cell or ovum
2. Chemical female sex hormones: Estrogen and Progesterone
What is the function of uterine tube?
P/U ovum when released from ovary and held until fertilization or death
Where does development of embryo and fetus take place?
Uterus
